We, Dartmouth alumnae and alumni, are united in support of all survivors of campus sexual assault, violence and harassment.
We are angry and galvanized by last week’s verdict. We stand against the ignorant, hateful, and victim-blaming statements that pass too often as commentary among some alumnae/i and students. Survivors should never be blamed for the actions of others.
We stand against ineffective action from the College, silence on how this verdict impacts the Dartmouth community, and the lack of genuine engagement on other issues that negatively impact the student experience.
By standing together, we call upon Dartmouth to be its best: an inclusive, thoughtful and strong community. We call upon alumni, faculty, students, administrators and trustees to create a campus community in which everyone can pursue their education free from the threat of discrimination and sexual violence. We can do better, and we pledge to work towards this goal.
